Peruvian Opal Sterling Silver Necklace

A one of a kind Peruvian Opal necklace, handmade in sterling silver and designed to make the beautiful natural stone the centre of attention.

This unusual teardrop shaped Peruvian Opal measures approximately 30 x 15 mm. Its gorgeous sea green and turquoise colouring, with darker natural markings running through the stone, is exactly what attracted me to these opals in the first place.

The stone is surrounded by my hand textured radiating line border, creating a frame that draws the eye towards the opal while adding another layer of texture to the design.

The setting is fixed directly into the sterling silver chain, helping the necklace sit correctly when worn and keeping the stone at the front and the clasp at the back of the neck.

Turn it over and the solid silver reverse has been given the water inspired texture that runs through this small collection. The irregular pattern is inspired by the wonderful shapes you see on the surface of water when light dances across it.
