Round Peruvian Opal Sterling Silver Pendant

A beautiful one of a kind Peruvian Opal pendant, handmade in sterling silver.

The round Peruvian Opal measures approximately 19 mm in diameter and is full of gorgeous natural colour. Rich sea greens and turquoise blues are interspersed with lighter areas and natural markings, giving the stone wonderful depth and character.

It is exactly these colours that attracted me to Peruvian Opal in the first place. They remind me of the sea, with its constantly changing shades of blue, turquoise and green.

The stone is surrounded by a sterling silver border, individually textured by hand with fine radiating lines. The simple circular shape and textured surround allow the extraordinary natural pattern of the opal to take centre stage.

Turn the pendant over and the solid silver back reveals another detail. I have textured it with the irregular patterns inspired by the shapes you see on the surface of water when light shines across it.
